This course comprises of a 1 day foundation certificate and 2 day level 2 certificate, these courses can be run individually or together. The foundation module is aimed to provide staff who do not work full time in a plant room (e.g. lifeguards) but need to have a basic understanding of how pool water is managed. The level 2 certificate is aimed at the plant room technician who has overall responsibility for the day to day running of all aspects of the plant room, from testing to remedial action.
This new course jointly provided by STA and ISPAL is QCA and NVQ approved meaning it can be used to count towards larger qualifications in the QCA and NVQ framework. They also count towards CPD.

We are pleased to be among the first to offer training courses and seminars directed specifically at Energy Conservation within the pool and spa industry. With the ever increasing energy prices and the drive to become more environmentally friendly and most significantly increase our energy efficiency; this subject is now more important than ever.
MANUAL HANDLING TRAINING
More than a third of all “over three day” injuries reported each year, to the HSE and local authorities arise from manual handling. Therefore in response to ongoing industry demand the STA (Safety Training Awards) has developed a 1/2 day course to attempt to reduce the number of injuries due to manual handling through the provision of adequate and meaningful training.
We now offer STA Manual Handling Training Courses accredited to current HSE standards using the Manual Handling Training Passport and Information Scheme. This course details legal and practical aspects of handling inanimate loads, providing background to legislation, and outlines employer and employee responsibilities. Attention is given to storage and handling in order to bring forward the importance of “Looking ahead” and “Thinking for others”.
As well as scheduled courses we are also able to offer tailor made courses for each individual workplace. This training can also be run in conjunction with our confined space course (see below).
Can you afford not to train your employees in the correct manual handling techniques??
For further information on these courses please contact us.
CONFINED SPACE TRAINING
We offer confined space training courses accredited to current HSE standards. These can be tailor made for each individual workplace, we specialise in pool plant training to enable safe entry and egress into balance tanks and filters etc, can you afford to be without this training? This course can also be run in conjunction with our manual handling course (see above) again tailored to your workplace.
